rusting wheel wells

Almost everyone on here that is in salt country has this issue, the waxing does nothing because it is rusting from the inside out, Ford puts foam between the layers in the box and that acts like a sponge and holds the moisture and salt..

I've don't it twice within two years on my 04...long story. If you plan to keep the truck a long time you have 3 options
A- get fender flares and leave it then pull the foam out of the holes the rust makes and paint the rust with por15
B- get the quarter panels replaced and remove the foam then paint the underside of the bed with por15
C- get a new bed but it will also have the foam unless it's a 2013 bed so it's bound to happen again.
I chose option B since around where I live it was cheaper to repair the bed than replace it.

Also i am ordering the liners for $130 will this help?
And i was looking at the specs on the new trucks. I noticed the xl work trucks it says galvanized body panels. But on the lariat or higher package truck no galvanize. Anyone notice this ?

I wash my inner rear wheel wells like once a week year long, in the summer I spray fluid film by the gallon in there and my 04 with 117k in New Jersey salt land is still rust free. My dad's 2000 7.3 is not cleaned as good as mine but his is still rust free also, since yours is just starting I would go to a quality body shop one that gives you a lifetime warranty and get the wells replaced or the entire bed side. Have them completely remove all that crap foam and have them sand grind whatever it takes all the rust away and then prime paint and Por15 everything and never worry about rust problems again

sound deadening.....not really sure why they think it does anything because i never noticed a difference since i got mine removed. You would think with all the small things they remove to save money that that would be one of them since it doesn't really do anything and everybody in the northern sates hate it.
