swap out '67's frnt drums to '82 ford discs
Welcome!
Yes. I believe U will need to find the correct after mrkt caliper bracket to weld/bolt to the axle housing tubes which the caliper will then bolt to. Some of the race shops, big box stores, and catalogues (hard copy or on line) have the brackets. Also remove the drum/shoe so U can put the spindle and rotor on. The classic bronco site (J'sBGrvYrd set up yrs. ago) has a step by step thread w/pic of the che**y swap. I like the "keep it all 1 oem" idea (like yerself) tho! It should B similar enuff to copy 4 yer app...
Have fun, B Safe & productive!
I simply replaced the whole "clip" ie lock out to lock out (placed a '77 axle under a '70) for the discs & D44. But U do what U have...

Unfortunatlty, that info is wrong. You cannot use the ttb brakes on any EB. I think you may be able to use the hub and rotor, but that's it. You have a D30, so your only option is the so called 'Chevy conversion' (they are all Dana axles). Here's a link to the conversion and parts list. For the Chevy parts you can actually pull from newer years but it gets tricky because they have a big and small bearing version of the D44. You need parts from the small bearing.

Here's a link to the all 'Ford' (really Dana) parts conversion. But this will only work with a D44 because you swap the knucle too. D44s have ball joints and D30s have kingpins.

Yes, you can certain disc brakes from car 9 inch rears, but the fronts are very different. I did the (for lack of a better term) Chevy conversion on my brother-in-law's 1970 D30 and it works just fine. One of the nice things is that if you ever decide to upgrade to a D44, just find a cheap EB specific drum version and swap the discs over.

"...but the fronts are very different..."
sure missed that, not sure how- cuz I mentioned removing the drum, spindle...just didn't picture the whole thing...humph! Too tired? no, it's still not in my mind well. But that don't matter. 'S not my job here
or now.
Ya gunna try the chebby's Rick?

The Dana 30 swap works like the eb 44. You need to take complete hubs from the donor vehicle, which is an 80s Ford 4x4. Then you need to take the backing plates and calipers and spindles from a 72-198x (or maybe even 90s) Chevy half ton 4x4 vehicles. These plates and calipers are extremely common. People call it a Chevy swap... The last thing you have to do is to grind down some of the metal of the knuckle because it will bind with the sliding gm sourced caliper.
If you have an EB 44 you can do a knuckle swap where you knock off the entire knuckle from the ford 4x4 and swap them with your eb knuckles. Then you either need to run inserts in the knuckles for the EB ball joints, or convert to larger ball joints.

FYI: knocking off the spindles from the donor vehicle so they are undamaged is the real trick. It is better off to source new for this if you can. Rock Auto may the backing plates as well as the spindles. The spindles like to rust themselves into the knuckles and getting them out in a junkyard situation without damage can be tricky. You may have to take the whole knuckle from the donor vehicle and then knock them off from the back at home. This is something you want to do carefully. The end of the spindles where the hub rides is not as tough as you may think.
