Good exhaust for a 360

The exhaust on my truck now is the stock manifolds with some puny 2" pipe going to 2 8" stacks, straight piped. Plans are to put some flowtech headers on it and probably 2.5 inch pipe, either back to the stacks or side exhaust, haven't decided yet, true duals for sure though. Wondering what a good muffler is. Don't want it super loud because I do plan on driving it around town a little but I'm going for as much power as possible. Not looking to break the bank either. So what do you guys think would be good? also is it technically "street legal" to run them without a catalytic converter in Wisconsin? Thanks in advance

Yup its legal to run no cats. As for mufflers, I run dual thrush glasspacks. $40 from Napa.

How long of glass packs do you use?

Mufflers and their resulting sound quality are too subjective. Let your budget be your guide. Order up some catalogs from Summit and Jeg's. There are many to choose from to fit most any budget.

Yes, 2.5-inch mandrel bent tubing is the way to go. Terminate the tips beyond the body line to avoid the bed reverberating the sound. Also avoid locating the mufflers directly under the cab to reduce interior vibration.

24" I think. I put them on few months back. Not too loud, but definitely sounds aggressive on startup (sets off car alarms) and sounds awesome if ya put your foot in it.

Also I should add that my mufflers are right underneath the cab (like HIO said) and I've got 2.5" tubes running to them with turn downs ending right after the cab.
