Thinking about selling my Excursion, what is this truck worth?
Two years ago my family of 6 decided to get into camping. We bought a toyhauler and 4 atvs and camped twelve times over 2 years utilizing the Excursion to pull that camper. We sold the camper in September, and now I really dont need this Excursion anymore. I love the truck, but I would rather own a late model F150 so I can have a bed to haul my remaining ATV.
So I have sunk alot of money in this Excursion over the last couple years making it the best I could, and my question is: What is a fair asking price for this Excursion?
2005 Ford Excursion 6.0L 4x4 Eddie Bauer
Oxford White exterior with two tone brown/tan leather
The truck has 2 previous owners both registered in Florida. It is the most rust free truck I could find in IL. The previous owner traded it in on an F250 due to blown head gaskets. ( I didnt know this) I bought the truck at 93,000 miles and at 96,000 miles I had a new long block and many new parts installed (see list below). The truck currently runs Excellent. Clear title in hand.
Engine:
116,000 miles currently on the truck.
The truck went in for major repairs at 96,000 miles Those repairs included:
New Ford long block (installed by Ford dealer)
new oil cooler with STC fitting
new front and rear heater cores
radiator professionally cleaned and flow checked
ARP head studs installed in new long block
SCT livewire with Innovative Diesel Performance tunes (street, tow, economy)
SCT egt sensor
sinister coolant filter kit
River city diesel egr delete kit installed
Suspension, wheels tires:
ford F350 rear sway bar (installed at 98000 miles)
Rancho RS9000 Shocks (installed at 98000 miles)
V&B code springs (installed by previous owner)
new front tie rods (installed at 98000 miles)
5 matching 20" F250 wheels. Tires have 10K miles on them.
fluids:
trans flushed 10K miles ago
fuel filters flushed 10K miles ago (truck comes with extra filters)
oil changed 1K miles ago (motorcraft 10W40 with REV X additive at River City Diesel) (truck comes with extra oil filters)
Interior:
Touch screen navigation/DVD player by Kenwood
OEM reat passenger DVD player with headphones
rubber floor mats throughout (including rear) with no significant stains on the carpet
2nd row bench, and 3rd row bench (seating for 8)
heated leather seats
other items:
The truck as a 4" turbo back exhaust (not sure on the brand)
Air Raid intake
2 new optima red batteries (April 2013)
new OEM alternator (April 2013)
recon LED tow mirror lights
HID headlights (currently one is out and may have to revert to stock)
prodigy brake controller comes installed
Pics of Excursion can be seen in my album. (I will add alot more when I create a for sale thread)

Edit* as I forgot a few things.
One rebuilt and one new front hub. shift on the fly 4wd works great
High lift rear hatch struts
Any other details a buyer would want to know?

That's all nice but you never get the cost and time back that went into all the goodies. They would weigh heavily with me if I was the buyer but most are mostly looking at the selling price. The area makes a difference also so you might shoot for some long range buyers. Lots of people looking for these will travel.

look at prices of X's in Texas where they are a dime a dozen. Yours sounds to be in great shape, with all the good stuff already done. Comparison wise in your area, you are looking at $20-25k for a great shape X. Alot of people in this section of FTE don't understand those prices...but then again most haven't been shopping for a high end X with all the goodies either.
I personally would ask low $20's
And I personally wish you'd had this for sale a few months back...because I would have bought it. The new longblock alone makes it worth it IMO. Especially with all the other stuff done
