96 351w misfire sensor bypass??

I have a 96 f150 that I swapped a 351w into using the 302 harness. The motor was also a 96 and had the misfire sensor like the 302 for the obd2 system and a wheel on the balancer. I built a pretty stout 357w and when I installed it with an aftermarket balancer it ran weird when you left off the gas and threw a code. I put the stock balancer on and it solved that problem but now the balancer is coming apart and is 9 degrees off at tdc so it spun quite a bit.

Can I somehow eliminate the sensor so I can run the balancer that was balanced for my motor? I'm hoping in the tune it's possible. I can't find the balancer new anywhere.

Here is a thread I found where he left it unplugged with no issues.

96 F150 Motor swap issues - Ford F150 Forum

My truck threw a code and sounded like it stalled everytime I let off the gas. I had it plugged in though but without the wheel on the balancer. I'd like to eliminate it if at all possible with no drivability problems or cel.

The stalling ain't caused by the misfire sensor. That's gotta be something else.

As for eliminating it without getting a CEL... output from this sensor is pulse train (square wave) and the EEC is looking for that to change with engine RPM. No fooling this one.

All you really need though is a custom tune. I'd call up SCT (Superchips Custom Tuning) and ask them for an estimate. Might as well tell them everything you have done, and other sensors you'd like to be ignored, and get it all done in one tune.

It is tuned with an SCT X3 flash tuner but he said he couldn't shut it off. But I thought it was a crankshaft position sensor at first. I'm getting it retuned when I put it back together with a new cam and intake so hopefully we can get it squared away. If not I may try to remove the wheel and possibly tach weld it to the new balancer.

I know it sounds ridiculous but when I took the aftermarket balancer off and installed the stock one the problem went away. I can live with a cel for awhile but the decelerating issue was annoying.
