I just got a 95 f250 gas and cant get it into 4 wheel drive. I locked it in and put it in neutral and the shifter for 4 wheel drive won't move
Wondering if there were any other tricks or what might be the problem. Thanks

 

The 4WD selector tends to get pretty cruddy on these trucks and doesn't want to shift. In my case it was the up-down motion to get into 4L, but I've heard other people have problems with the pivot.

Here is a link to a thread where a user stripped down the shifter and cleaned it up. I did this last year, adding some self-threading zerks on both collars, and shifting into 4H or 4L has been great. You will need a pretty big Torx bit and a big breaker bar to get the bolt off that holds the body to the transmission.

yes other guy is rite they get cruddy try taking the boot off spray some pb blaster down in there u might get it to move
