Looking for older post with needed info, but cant find

Hello guys,

Its been awhile since I've been on the forums, but I came back looking for some info I read back in the day, but cant seem to locate the thread.

I have been having a couple issues with my 93 F-150 Supercab 5.0L 4x2 Auto.

First, the truck is in need of a transmission fluid change and I am wanting to complete that next time I'm up north in TN, where the truck is. If I remember correctly, I read about a small part/bracket that could be purchased, that went in the transmission that held the pan filter up against the transmission body. This is the thread and or info I was looking for. From what I remember, the bracket kept the filter in place and kept it from sliding up and down. Do any of you guys remember this thread? Heck...it may have been on the Bronco Forums after I sit and think about it. Have any of you heard of such a device (bracket).

Second, the truck has become notorious for not wanting to start sometimes. It started awhile back and I figured out that I had to pull the shifter lever to the far left to get the starter to engage. Wasn't a real big deal, but now its not as easy to find that "magic spot" as for it has seemed to wonder from what was the far left to only who knows where now. Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting?

Thanks in advance....

Check ENCHO's signature, he made one for his out of sheet metal. For an E40D I think. As for the start problem, is the trans an E40D, if so could be the mpls? Is out of adjustment there are sòme good threads hrer on that too.

You may want to check the T30 bolts on the column also.
They come loose and cause this also.
