define just dead...when you turn the key nothing happens, or the engine cranks over but doesn't start?

Need more specific info, will not do anything at all, no click or buz or just turn over and not start? If no click or buzz, turn on headlights to see if the battery is toast.

Out of gas, clogged fuel filter, water in the lines froze, coil died, electronic ignition (brain box died. Alternator died, fried a voltage regulator?

Sounds like a no spark issue then. Ck all the important wiring mybe be something just came off? If it cranks and at good strong speed you need to ck for fire at the coil.

At least you're making the big bucks....which translates to more dent parts when you come home.

Speaking of big bucks, I had to leave before rifle deer season started..... won't be home for x mas or new year and looks like another extension to stay here is right around the corner.

I am not in the best of moods about the first extension let alone another one, but yes you are correct it means more Ford truck money in the end. But at this rate I will not be there to work on or drive them for a while.

Thanks for trying to cheer me up, what are doing up this hour?

Wonder if that guy ever checked for spark?

It's only 12am here....

nobody ever checks for spark, even after you ask you them to.
