Factory alarm/PATS problem

Im working on a 2002 ford explorer it has the pats 2w7j-19g367-aa system we just did the intake and valvecover gaskets on her. Hooked up the battery and tried to turn the alarm off with the remote, ignition key and key in the side door. N/g. Ontop of that the lights were dimming and the horn was firing off almost like a rapid Morse code. I finally traces it to the pats box under the steering column. Disconnecting it made everything stop but would not start. So I reconnected it with my fingers crossed and the same thing happened. the box seem to be clicking like crazy..... I'm 90 percent sure this box took a *****. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated... about ready to order a new Pats box from ford in TOms River

This isn't really the thread to get help with this. Try making a new thread and also finishing up your profile with your location

And maybe post in an Explorer forum instead of an Excursion forum? Maybe I'm just being picky.

No worries. I cut it from the 8 year old thread (hey, it shows he knows how to search for problems! Good job and kudo's to the new guy!) and made it it's own stand alone thread.

No problem here either.

Moved to the Explorer forum for the new guy.

Although you have a join date of 2009, since this is your first post, welcome to FTE, drumsk!

I'd suggest you check the condition of the battery. The symptoms you describe (rapid clicking, not responding, and dim lights) sound consistent with a low battery condition.
