Allan, mine is outside in the high sierras because I have an 8' ceiling in the garage. Don't let a low roof keep you from having a lift.

I would install one in a heartbeat if some of you guys would pop over and lift my shop ceiling up about 4 feet .
Got a bonus room over my garage but trying to talk the wife into reclaiming some of that space and making it usable.
