Maybe its because both my trucks have 3.55 gears, but I've always wanted an undergear drive so I could get a final drive thats between 3rd and OD.

You'll want to use exhaust couplings like this for the straight pipe(s).

Just be careful that you don't get PMS, or this might be you:
Thats it! Its for my pac brake, everything is hooked up except for the actual unit, his son is suppose to bring that to me this weekend. Now those coupling would connect my delete pipe to my stock pipe right? I would use the u clamps and it should be good to go. What size coupling should i get?

You could probably find a model number of the gv and go online. There is probably a manuel you could download.

Eat your Wheaties! That or if you have access to a Porta-power jack that will make life a lot easier. Have you researched this project to know what you're in for? You have to slice the old DP up to be able to remove it, then make cuts in the pinch weld in the firewall and bend the pinch weld out flat. I;m not trying to scare you, I just want to be sure that you know what you're getting into. It' a little more involved than swapping a muffler, lol.

I can tell you for sure that getting the stock one out of there is a real pain. Use a sawzal and cut it above and below because it will not come out in one piece. Then cut the pinch weld in about three or four places and flatten it to the body to make room for the DP. Good Luck.

The porta power is just helpful to use because it makes flattening the pinch weld out a lot easier. Otherwise, you end up trying to pry it out flat with pry bars, 2x4s, pipes, I've even heard that a baseball bat or two has been used for that purpose.

Porta power is your friend, its needed on ALL aftermarket downpipes! Some just beat it in but I don't know how to swing a hammer in that tight of a spot. Make sure you cut the pinch weld with a sawzal or it will not go flat!

Yeah and WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T USE A TORCH! There are pictures that go with that warning, but nobody wants to see that again.

More like that dumb....

Needless to say they won't make that mistake again. At least not with that truck.
