55' stepside box value?

There's a few of us that have built the beds from scratch. Since there are no compound curves involved in the bed, it's a fairly easy fabrication project. Really depends on whether you have the tools or are willing to invest the time.
For me, I had so many custom ideas I wanted to incorporate that I couldn't see spending the money on a new bed only to start cutting and welding on it. I don't recall the exact amount that I paid for the metal to build the bed, but I know it was less than 500 dollars and I had enough left over to build the tailgate, and my running boards and I still have some of the metal left from that project. Of course that was before metal prices took a jump so I'm sure the costs would be different today.

I will. Let me get to that project first though. I have some race car work to do first, and then some small projects on the 63' F100 driver and some body work to the tow vehicle, and then on to the 55. My job is getting in the way of my projects frankly.
