WHen I took delivery of my '59 pickup earlier this year, I went to the DMV and order personalized license plates for it. I asked for "59 F100" on the tag. I got the registration papers on the spot. The paperwork read just like I had applied "59 F100".

I got the plates in the mail last week. The plates read "59 FIDO".

The government can't do anything right. I had to reorder the plates. How dumb are these people to send me plates that don't match the registration in their own computers? If I were the outlaw type, it would have been on hell of an opportunity.

 

This got me wondering. I have ordered mine to read "57F-100" because that is the only way I could get the 6 letters/digits to read properly. I wonder now what I am going to get, although the plates are in "official storage" now.
