Those must be Kodachrome (Ektachrome?) slides. The color balance has held up well and seems realistic.

This is a GREAT thread! I love seeing the vintage ads & photos!

I think it is also interesting how some of the ads depict trucks with various options - SOME of the custom cab options, like windshield bright trim or not, some have SS hub caps while others are depicted with painted hub caps, some with white walls others with black wall tires, some indicate no door mirrors, others with one or both door mirrors, or even the one illustration depicts a '65 with only the RH door mirror! (see post #29, the fifth truck down). Most, but not all, depict trucks with both front and rear bumpers; and most of them are of the chrome variety.

ND thanks for the info. Just going by what I was told. Maybe I misunderstood when the old guy told me. Maybe they were "new" to my town in 1964 but not brand new.

Great thread. Love the Woodalls open road camping link.
Got a kick out of the chev trucks burning to the ground.

Big thanks for your contributions Sodly for keeping this historical thread alive. The full wheel covers were actually a new for '66 accessory for F 100 pickups, as well as some cars also. I find these photos refreshing and inspiring, especially the real color photos. Here is a F 250 with extra add on fuel tanks ( common during the pickup camper boom years) for those long far out camping trips. Check out those gloss black 16" lock ring wheels and new for '65 white with red trim hubcaps, almost like Ford was copying Chevy this year.

The caption above the guys at the campsite: "Poor *******s are going over the falls! Must be at least a 1000' drop."

1966F250

I guess these are vintage now and so am I. Bought it in 1971 with less then 50,000 for $1100. Had just changed to 12x16.5 rims and tires and did the seat in black. Repowered in about 1976. Original 352 reinstalled in 1979, Repowered again about 4 years ago.
