Hey I got a 97 f150 4x4 with a 4.6 and I just received a recall notice for the gas tank straps (11S21) and was wondering if this covers the tank too? My rear strap broke and not long after, the tank rotted and is now leaking, so I puttied it for now but a strap can't go back on. I can't afford a new tank (college... broke for the most part). Will this get me a free gas tank along with straps?

Yes, they should cover it. You have to find a helpful person in the business office at your friendly Ford dealer who will go to bat for you. Worked for me. Good luck.

 

Called the local ford dealership. It's not covered unless the tank contacts the ground and gets punctured. The tank isnt covered if it leaks because of rust. I know I could work that angle but it aint really worth the risk. Thanks guys!
