settling down, I think

settling down, I think
I've owned a bunch of 4x4 trucks in my life. Let's see, 3 K5 Blazers, a '78 Bronco, a '73 F250, an '83 Toyota, an '89 Bronco, and a '98 Ranger. Right now I have two in the stable, a '90 Bronco that's an old friend, and a (new to me) '77 F250 Highboy. I'm thinking of passing my Bronco on to my 17 year old son and settling in with the highboy for the long haul. This may be my last truck purchase as I think she's the one for me.
I'm here because I have already found some valuable information on this forum that was free and out there for any Ford lover that wanted it. Thanks and I'm glad to be here.

Hi There Desmoprofundis and Welcome to FTE Your bang on about there being a ton of good information here. The folks here are quite the knowledgeable bunch who are always willing to help their fellow Ford owners that are having a problem or need a question or two answered.
When you have a moment, don't forget to join the local chapter where you are from and meet some of your fellow Ford fans and FTE members from your area... and don't forget to upload some pics of your Fords to your garage for us all to see.
Hope you enjoy your time here at FTE and we will see you in the threads! Cheers.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Promiscuous, Ha! Yeah, I guess.
Different times in my life called for different types of trucks. It's funny how looking back at the vehicles in your life, you can see a complete picture of what and who you were during that time.
First truck 'cause it's tough and will take me camping and wheeling. The second because I broke the first.
The third, I drove across the country when I was stationed at FT Lewis, WA from upstate NY.
The fourth, and fith trucks for about the same reason as the first and second except I'm learning that parts cost money and am becoming more and more careful off road.
Sixth truck, now I have kids and need a 4x4 for snow and the now occasional off road excursion. Divorce and a time of no truck for a while. Another deployment brings a little extra cash and along with it a Bronco to tote my kids around when I have them. All efforts to keep her running fail and she gets parted out. I keep most of her for my next $800 investment in old ford tech.
That old Bronc' looks and runs great now but damn, life is changing again. Kids no longer pile in and are driving themselves around. The back seat has become an empty reminder of times that have came and left.
Time to get back to business, hence F250 Highboy. I gotta boat to pull now, let's do this.
