red is diesel. Black for gas. Mainly all the background.

Referring to the color of the egg-crate design in the lower 2/3rds of the fender emblem.
If yours is showing black egg-crate coloring with F250--just seems for some reason they were changed? Easy enough to do. And the fender emblem is in 2 parts--the F250 part pries out--careful not to damage the paint. Then the lower part can be pushed out from the inside of the fender opening.

Gotcha.. It is a red honeycomb.. So that's saying diesel.. The F250 part just be popped off with a screwdriver? How would I put the other one on? Are there holes slots behind the emblem or do I need some jb weld?

I found a few salvage yards here where I recently just got stationed.. Gonna go threw them tomorrow to try and find some F350 emblems and a few other parts that would be nice..

I need to replace my headlights, and tomorrow evening will be getting a mini Max dpf delete and 4" flow pro. Never had a tuner before so I have been trying to read up and will ask quite a few questions to the guy installing mine.. He's up close to Oklahoma City.. $2550 for the tuner, exhaust, and install.. Best price I could find..

look inside the fender. you can see the other side of the emblem. Yes they are functional! Made that way to help dissipate the heat. So I understand.

The 350 part will just pop in where the 250 was. Be careful prying the old one out--it will come out, I've had mine out just from curiousity. If you can't find used ones, new won't be very $$$.

I found that it's easiest to stick your arm inside the fender from inside the engine bay and push the pins out. Seems to put less force and prevent breaking the emblems.

If there is no evidence of any vehicle issues, my suspicion would be that the PO lived somewhere with a **** HOA or similar that decided that "1 ton" trucks were too "commercial" to park in the development. Swap out the badges to 250s and problem bypassed.

Good point & most likely true on HOA BS.

I can't believe ppl live in those places & pay yearly $$.

Glad the OP got the truck.

I'd much rather have 350 over the 250
