Didn't you and Bob talk about it and that your spring is more open ?
I remember talking to him briefly about when he actually might do a get-together at his place, but actually my spring is much busier than the fall for me.
All in all pretty solid. Needs hood, cab corners, and lower patches on front fenders. cab floor is real nice. Motor will turn, Now I NEED TO COME UP WITH A PLAN. Restore to original, make a nice driver, Rob a bank and build a show truck, Rat rod, or sell. Will the Toyota steering box work with the F250 ? What about a rear end . Is there disk kits For the F250 ? How do I find out what Y block I have ? plate said 143 hp . Maybe I should just do the drive line and clear coat it.Some are spending big $ on fake patina.
Personally DON'T rob a bank, well don't get caught. Build a nice driver, NOT a show truck. I love the long beds but they don't have as much collector interest. The Toy box works fine in the F250. Swap in an Explorer rearend and switch the fronts to disks. You lose the 8 lug but can gain better wheel options. DON'T spend too much time trying to straighten out the box metal, blast everything down and have a good time with it.
Personal opinion; you already have a show-ready truck (the panel). Buy a BIG sandblaster, take this down to good steel, and paint it. Do the stock mechanicals. You'll have a solid work truck for peanuts.
I like this plan!
Keep the 8 lug. 5 lug on a bigger truck looks weird. Do the Dana 60 swap, front disks if you must, and drive the rest of the drive train as is.
I love this thing!.... What '38 said, but only other thing I'd do is move the front axle fwd about 1 1/2". The setback always bothered me on my '53 f350 express. I always wanted to try it, but was nervous I would screw up the geometry. Now that I'm on FTE, I see others have done it sucessfully. Just my .02. That box looks really nice to me.

I agree with Ross's plan. Paint "Smitty's Garage" on and have fun!
First, the wife knows all about it, She even went to the bank to get the cash. Second, the dual radio is a Am with a FM next to it. Third, after 3 hours of wanting to kill the jerk that designed the distributor in the back of the motor. I Got the points cleaned up. Fourth, I drained the gas from the float bowel and hooked up a small tank to the fuel pump. Five, a good battery. Six drove it around the yard. Seven, fifty lbs oil pressure, Radiator leaks, wipers and horns work . DID YOU READ THE PART THAT IT RUNS ? Fix the brakes and we are headed for truckfest.
