New kid on the block

Hey guys! Jake here! I'm 17 and still don't have my first truck or car lol. I have a friend who might sell is 96-ish F-150 straight 6, 4x4, 5 speed manual 6ft bed. I know the owner who bought it new and boy did he beat the crap out of it. But its still running strong. Hopefully i'm gonna buy it this spring. It's the truck that suits me the best. Hopefully I wont have to Fix Or Repair Daily. I'm more of a Dodge guy but Dail Overhauls Do Get Expensive so I'll go with what I got. Funny thing is the old 250's of that year with the wide mirrors were my dream truck as a child and now im getting something pretty darn close. I joined the forms to find out what "efficient" mods i could do. Such as exhaust systems, plugs, spark plug wires, throttle body spacers, programmers. Stuff to get a little for HP, Torque, and MPG type mods. Let the fun and games begin!

Welcome to the site Jake. I can't help any on your truck.
I drive an 85 Bronco and the newest rig I have ever had is a 90 W250.
Great trucks both. But I am way Old school.

Well the original truck I thought I wanted was my Dad's 1988 Dodge Dakota V6 3.9L 4x4 3speed auto. Until I realized it screamed at 55mph. Itls a nice little truck...besides all the rust and shot interior. I'm sure this ford will be a nice starter. Maybe I'll get some pics of the Dodge up here and get the picks of my Dad's 1977 Ford F-350 Custon 400 Big block 4speed dumptruck.

No problem Bud. I am sure I need to replace the ign switch (It won't shut off. Got to kill it in gear, than disconnect the Batt), Fuse box (it is broke in half and now has jumper wires from one side to the other), And computer.

I think you need a new car lol. I think it's weird it will start but wont shut off. I would think the ignition switch would be the first place to start, after that the fuse box then the computer. Maybe you can find a junked car and take the parts.
