Max. Size Tire Rims I Can Use on 56 F100?
Hello All,
While I build my 56 F100, I am looking for good buys on rims and tires - used or new. I have a Volare IFS front clip.
Using the older temporary tires and rims I have, I know that 15X7 rims work okay- without rubbing against a-arm spindles . Can anyone tell me if larger 16X8 rims would work with the Volare IFS-or should I stick with 15X7??
Thanks

16x8 is pushing your luck. I have 15x8 and 15x7 is probaby a better plan if you're lowered. The Volare will turn very tight and you would have to fab a steering stop with 16x8s or the tires will hit the frame for sure. My buddies liken my truck to a creeper. I can just about drive the truck around in a 24x26 garage without opening the garage door. Parallel parking sure isn't a problem.
