'04 Escape Engine Light On - HELP

So, my inspection has been expired since June 2013 and when I had my engine light diagnosed, it came back with the O2 sensor error. It stated it was a specific one, so we replaced that one and the engine light never turned off. 4 O2 sensors, 1 MAF sensor and $250.00 later, the engine light is still on. Other possibilities from the diagnostic test was the vaccum lines, the fuel pump/filter and/or the wiring?

Along with that, my gages will randomly hike all the way to maximum and then drop all the way down, then go back to normal. When this happens, nothing machanical goes wrong with my car, but I'm not exactly sure where to start with that issue.

Any help would be very much appreciated!!

Leah

Is this the 6 or 4 cylinder?
I'm not sure on the 4 but there is a rubber elbow near the radiator just right of center of the hood and another one net the firewall. I believe they come together near the center of the engine bay. These tend to get old and brittle and leak (they are vacuum lines). I'm sure the 4cyl has them too, just don't know where they would be located.

Mine is a V6. I will definintly have to look at that.

I know my dad said that one of the rubber peices was cracked on one of the vaccum lines and he replaced one but the other was a certain size that the auto parts store didn't carry and I had to get it from the Ford dealership. This was right when I started having issues with the Engine light. :-/ I should have tried the cheapest fix first.
