Debate going on at work: Was Anchorman a funny movie? Its in my top 3 of Will Ferrell movies, another guy says its at the very bottom. Lets hear your opinions
I watched Stranger Than Fiction again the other night. It's a pretty good movie, definitely a different role than he's usually cast in but he did a great job in it.
Step Brothers and Old School might be my 2 favorite Will Ferrell movies, I'd have to look at a full list though...
Can't/won't tolerate Will Ferrell.
He is NOT funny.
I did sit through "ELF" w/ my wife, though.
Thank goodness it was on TV. I put in my headphones and listened to music on my laptop while she watched that defecation of a movie.
I thought Anchorman was hilarious, one of the better Will Ferrel movies, but note that it had a lot of other funny people in it too. Talladega Nights (the Ricky Bobby movie) is up there too. "The Other Guys" with Mark Wahlberg is probably my favorite Will Ferrell movie; that movie ended up being way funnier than I thought it was going to be.
I can see why a lot of folks don't like him though; he does do a lot of stupid humor and it doesn't always work. I can't stand Elf.
I'm not a fan of Will Ferrell either. His style of comedy is terrible. His acting is terrible. And, he has this thing about being partially nude in just about all of his movies...
Strangely enough, though, I've always thought he'd make a better "serious" actor than a comedic one.
I guess I'm just easily amused. Airplane! was one of my favorite movies growing up (born in mid 70's)...
That's because Airplane! actually had some talent backing it up. There was Lloyd Bridges, Peter Graves, Robert Hays, Leslie Nielsen, Robert Stack, and Barbara Billingsley, amongst others...
Speaking of Barbara Billingsley, that "Jive Lady" bit was classic...
