Fast & Furious filming - High Speed Camera.
I know a little something about modern cameras - I've been working (professionally) with the technology behind electronic cameras since before the invention of the CCD. I bought my first digital camera in 1997 and I've graduated through the generations of cameras each time there was a big leap. The latest leap is high-speed imaging. Many have heard about the GoPro action cams, with their fantastic Hi-Res slow-mo video (if you haven't heard about it, look into gopro.com). If you're on a tighter budget, but want the utility of a high-speed camera to see what's going on with anything that moves fast - I have another product for you to look at.
Fuji has a waterproof/shock resistant camera that takes pictures, HD video, and HS video for under $200! [LINK] I bought one for the company on Amazon, but I'm sure you can find one at your favorite vendor as well. The HS feature (up to 240 frames per second, or 1/8-speed playback) is not going to be HD, but it will be tolerable for troubleshooting trucks and other toys. The waterproof feature is a real plus when you have oil vapors, fuel splashes, and greasy fingers. The shock-resistant feature will come in "handy" when your greasy grip gives way.

Rich,
do you think the XP60 will be fast enough to capture an arrow leaving a compound bow and be clear enough to see? Arrow speed is from 250 to 300 fps. I've wanted to watch my drop away rest, arrow shaft deflection, flight path, etc for a long time. Looks like technology is getting to the point I might be able to afford it.
Looks like it would be tough enough to mount under the truck to watch suspension and the like.

The technology is changing so fast, that the Nikon XP60 is no longer the flavor of the month - the Nikon AW100 or AW110 will outperform that in every aspect... for the same price.
If you are looking for an action cam, the GoPro Hero 3+ silver edition has a lower HS frame rate (120 FPS vs Nikon AW 240 FPS), but a better resolution. The Hero is far tougher with fantastic image quality, if you don't mind the permanent wide-angled lens. I have a HS digital camera for daily use, and a Hero for those action moments.

I cant keep up. If you wait 5 minutes there will be a new latest and greatest. I'm still using an Olympus Camedia .
I don't expect Mythbuster quality but want to see if I'm getting any fletch to rest contact or rest bonce back, etc.
I like the idea of the evironmentally resitant. I still have a clunk under the truck and would like to take video to see if I can see whats flexin when it happens.
