Tuners, intakes, exhaust, emissions delete?

Most of the companies that make tuners are still selling the version that retain the emission equipment. The EPA has been pretty hard on any of them selling tuners that remove the DPF and SCR. But you can still find some H&S tuners that will do that, but at a premium price.
If you certify your truck as "OFF ROAD" only, then you can buy new products.
I've seen post from both sides of the mileage. Some claim it adds a few mpg, Other say it did nothing. So your mileage will vary depending on just how you drive.
As far as HP, both the street legal and off road tuners can boost your HP numbers. Most of the products seem to be focused on the 2011 and 2012 models. It takes a little time for the tuner manufactures to develop the tunes for the newest models.

I'm pretty new to tuning and diesels and don't know the acronyms yet. Dpf is the exhaust urea fluid right? What's scr and what about the stupid exhaust filter thing? . What's an egr delete? A tuner made for Emissions won't work at all if you remove emissions? How much we talking for a no emissions tuner?

No I'm in ND. Probably have to find a shop I guess. I like to talk to other people though, sometimes shops just like to sell you whatever junk they carry and its not nesicarily the best option. This is especially true for stereo shops but I imagine it holds true for every product as most are only dealers for one brand.

DPF is the Diesel Particulate Filter that catches the soot and burns it off during the Regen process.
SCR is Selective Catalyst Reduction Reduces the NOx in the exhaust, This is where the DEF ( Diesel Exhaust Fluid) is sprayed in and reacts with the ceramic catalyst.
Tuner made for emission won't reprogram the computer to ignore the sensor that are tied to the emission. A tuner built for a delete, will reprogram everything to no seek imput from any sensor in the exhaust system.
EGR delete plug the EGR so that no EGR gases are routed through the engine.

There are a lot of threads about this. If you want to delete a '13 or '14 you need a hacked Street tuner, not a race tuner. They are hard to find as most have both them already. You will either have to call around or get put on a list. I'd call Amy and SPE and ask her if she has any suggestions on where to find one or if she can help you. Then you can run deleted if you want to or run stock with the emissions present. A race tuner doesn't work on the '13 up. They only work on the '11's and '12s.
