those that have replaced your Exhaust manifolds with headers

For those that have replaced your Exhaust manifolds with headers assuming the bolts and studs are not rusted very bad Is changing out the manifolds an quick job or not at all ? easy to get at ? or a total pain in the butt ?
did u do long tubes or shorty's? what brand ? and what were the rewards ? better gas mileage ? gain in power or torque ? I would like to heare about your set up and your feelings about it ? is there a large power gain in them for these trucks or not so much ? Thank you

I don't have either short or long header but you won't gain anything with shortys and not a great deal with long tubes for a normal truck application that would make it cost effective.
The other issues are the EGR and Ox sensor location changes.
The problem is these changes do not help with low end torque for a truck application in the RPM range you normally drive in.
If you run in the 3500 rpm and up area there can be some gains.
Bottom line is the power and fuel mileage increases your thinking is not there from the changes.
Good luck.

OK great thank you again as this helps as he must leave even sooner so i have less time. I did have a chance to look at the truck today and the stock manifolds and piping are vastly improved from some of the older models I will recommend just replacing the exhaust from just before the y pipe merges basically a cat back dual. THANK YOU AGAIN
