Seems like a lot of money for an IDI.

Too much for sure... I've seen a double axle like that before though in a field between Burns and Ontario, Or.

I have never seen one, nor heard of one being factory. At this point if one needed a double axle in the rear, might as well step up to a 550, or better! Just my thoughts though! LOL!

nope, no way no how.
F-superduty came from the factory as a cab chassis. no bed or body on the frame at all. that was put on by the dealer or body shop of your choice.

that "tandem axle" was an aftermarket thing, or a home made thing.

i wonder if it is a live axle, or a "tag" axle.

In Mexico there are several like that, but all had been modified, none factory or made "special" for Mexico.

And sadly, I think you would need to have a CDL to drive that legaly. Cuz you KNOW that would turn a DOT's head..

CDL goes by weight, not axle count.

CDL goes by GVWR, not by weight.

um,no. if the GVWR is 20,000 lbs, you do not need a CDL.
but if that same vehicle is registered for 50,000 lbs, you need a CDL.
