9” rear end Disc Brakes

Been reading up on 9” rear disc brake conversions and am looking for opinions. I’m installing a 9” rear axle in my 53 panel. The axle is missing backing plates, emergency brake cables, drums and everything associated with the brake shoes. If I’ve got to replace all that I’m thinking I could just as well convert to rear discs. Is there a bracket that can be bought and known rotors and calipers you can pick up at say Rock Auto to complete the conversion or is it better, in the long run, to buy a complete pre packaged kit? I’m running 15” wheels on the panel and the fronts have already been converted to discs. I also have CPPs disc brake master and their 2/4 wheel disk brake proportioning valve. I’m not going to race the ole Panel so I don’t think I need Monster rotors or multiple piston calipers but I do want to keep (must) my emergency brake, even though it’s got a automatic transmission.
Any thoughts, recommendations, things to look out for, etc? Thanks in advance!

Check out a place called Quick performance, they have drum and disc kits. I bought a drum kit from them. Which ever way you you will need a e-brake. The stock 53-56 cable works with the 9'' backing plates.

A word of caution on rear disc swaps. A lot of them use the old Cadillac Seville calipers with integrated parking brake and they are a nightmare to bleed and keep adjusted. I would recommend one of the kits from someone like wilwood that has the small parking brake drum and separate brake caliper.
