2008 F550 6.4L died on the road today.

When I bought his truck at the biginning of this year I drove it about 25 miles and it died on the highway. It displayed a message to pull over and as I was pulling off the highway the engine shutoff. After an hour it started back up and ran fine for months. About two months ago we noticed the engine coolant was disappearing so we had the egr coolers upgraded and replaced. Today it displayed the message to pull over and it died as soon as my truck driver got it off the road. He tried to reset everything by disconnecting the battery. Waited for hours and it never started. EGT sensor? Is my only hope to have them run the codes? I pulled it to a local dealer with my F250 but they wont open up til Tuesday. Any ideas or suggestions?

EGT sensor. The one just before the DPF I should think.

I second that. Every single person that's had that message and instant engine shutdown had been an EGT Sensor.

Same on my truck, i believe mine was the one directly after the DPF. EGT 13 if i can remember correctly. Easy fix if you want to DIY.
