Factory lift pump sucks. I just did one on the shop truck due to this issue. I found fuel in the valley of the engine. It's easy to do but time consuming and you get real comfortable laying on top of the engine.

Pretty much all the time it's hard to start. Sometimes if you've just had it running it will fire right back up again. Do you think it could be the pump?

not sure. the reason i asked is if it is only hard to start when cold it is most likely glow plugs.

ask down in the 94-97 powerstroke diesel forum. there are a lot of very smart fellows there that will help you get it up and running in no time.

Try checking/cleaning all the battery connections. Also check and clean the connections on the starter and starter solenoid (pass fender)

If that doesn't work have a load test done on the batteries. Make sure you disconnect them from each other before the load feast is done.

These engine need to spin quick to fire off

Alright I will give that a shot. I'm supposed to go over and mess around with it tomorrow. I will try that first then I will let ya know how it works. It is a farm truck as is mine... It wouldn't surprise me that it's loaded with crap
