Rear A/C Issues

2005 Expedition.
Look through some searches with no luck, so here's my issue. A year ago, my rear air was making the well know "thumping" noise when it was turned on. It still functioned, just with the noise. 2 months ago, the rear air would only blow out of the bottom rear vent, and no longer the ceiling. In my messing with the ac, it suddenly stopped working all together in the rear. Both heat and ac. I change the rear actuator gear assembly in the back fender well and it had a worn out part (gears all chewed up). But I still have the issue that the unit will not turn on. Again, the rear air. I checked the applicable fuses, with no luck. Am I missing something else?

What does " in my messing with the ac" mean? Were you taking things apart?

Good question. More of Turing the dial off and on too many damn times in frustration. No disassembly.

Have you tested for power at the rear blower motor? If power exists then the blower motor is shot.
