94 F350 7.3 Diesel Glow Plug Question
#16
I installed the new glow plugs, and discovered that the controller was in fact bad. I wired around the controller with a manual switch and the truck started up just fine. Thanks for the help guys.
I have some other questions, but I'll search the forums thoroughly first and then start new threads if necessary.

Yeah, once I pulled the old plugs. I tested the resistance, and it was all over the place from plug to plug. A few of them were probably good, but I think I'm better off having replaced them all.
I installed a push button switch in the dash next to the fuse panel cover, so that the switch couldn't accidentally be switched/left on. Maybe I'll replace the controller some day, but I doubt it. I've run several other diesel cars with a manual switch in years past, bypassing computers and such.
