Truck bed carrage bolts.. Anyone know the size??
As noted.. Anyone know the size/length of the bed carriage bolts?? Going to take bed off and replace them..
Not going to mess around with it.. Doing bead blaster a few times over a few days.. Then use a MAP torch and hit them with a little heat and then impact. The one up front by the driver side is going to be a pain.. Old fashion hand wrench way

i'm pretty sure they're just 1/2-13 carriage bolts. maybe 5/8-12. i'll be under my truck this weekend putting my midship tank back in, so i'll try to spin a nut on for you to figure it out.
then just order replacements from McMaster and cut the existing ones off from below. no need for any more effort than that.

I don't think they're standard carriage bolts...
I recollect that mine had a cylindrical body below the carriage head, with a small shoulder where the threads started. That shoulder sits on the hat section below the bed. It appears that it's intent is to avoid crushing the bed when the bolts are tightened. When I removed my bed, I cut the bolts from the top and the bed didn't come off easily.
LMC has bed bolts and nuts, 8 for like $10. They may be standard carriage bolts, however.
A thin sleeve of the right length should make standard carriage bolts work.

As Tom said they are special bolts from Ford. They are 3 different PNs... I was told by my ford that one of them are discontinued.
The 2 closest to cab are long with the cylindrical sleeve. The middle 2 are shorter with square type head. and the rears are the cylindrical sleeve and are shorter as well.
I ended up doing what another person said and put Super Duty bolts and clips in... best thing Ever!
Go to Ebay and find a set of 'new take offs' Super dutys have 8 bolts and 8clips. Mine were $50 shipped. I only used 4.
