1995 Ford F-250 headlight problem

i just bought a ford f250, 95. everything works great except when i turn the lights on. when i pull the ****, the lights turn on, but the radio goes off and the dash does not light, if i fiddle with it a little i sometimes can get the radio and dash to light. also park light lights do not light when **** is pulled just for them, and radio turns off. when switch is pulled for headlights all lights on exterior of truck work. any ideas?

Well if you can mess with the switch and stuff starts working again, I'd start by component testing the headlight switch, or if you're not game for that, try replacing it, it's cheap enough that it shouldn't hurt your wallet at all to throw one in.

Yeah, the headlight switch is a known weakness in this generation, especially as they age. It's not a robust design, and all the current for the lights runs through the switch itself, not through relays. It's a great idea if you do much night driving to wire the headlights with heavier gauge wiring and relays to remove most of load from the switch and increase the brightness of the lights.
