2005 F150 - What better factory radio options are there?

I just bought a 2005 F150 and it has the basic radio with CD player. Are there better factory radios out there that I might find on eBay cheap or should I just go for aftermarket?

I would like to at a minimum connect to my phone for calls and music. Probably via bluetooth would be ideal.

SIRIUS satellite capability would also be a plus.

Thanks for the recommendations!

Ken

Your better off just getting a decent aftermarket radio with all the options you want. The factory one are expensive and mist likely won't have everything you want. If you do a quick Google search you'll see.

Need Your Model To Answer...

I took the same route, upgraded my stock base AM/FM radio to a used single-CD Ford unit.

Since I have an XL, the only stock upgrade choice was the single-CD. The higher-end unit with the six-CD changer was not ever offered on the XL trim level.

If you have a Lariat or higher trim level, I think any Ford radio from your model year would work. Can't remember everything (or even where I left my memory pills...)

The issue is if your model displays any messages in the radio head unit.

However, as some of the other posters have commented, you will probably find more rewarding choices with an aftermarket unit. On the flip side, when people do replace a stock unit, it does generate a steady stream of reasonably priced stock units for sale.

Best of luck!
