old body vs new body style

Im looking at a 03 s/crew with the 5.4 with 80k miles and find myself debating wether or not to spend more money and go with an 04-08 body style. Ive had an 01 before with no troubles and have heard good and bad about 04-08 trucks (5.4)
can anyone give me a bit of guidance here? the truck isnt going to be used as a daily driver so MPG isnt the biggest of concerns, just reliability and lack of constant repairs or known problems.

thanks

I had an 03 and have a 05 now, I would have never sold the 03 if it wasn't for it being 2wd and needing 4wd. However my 05 has been a great truck I bought it new and now has 135k on the clock with very little issues and it has never left me anywhere. I would buy either again so figure out what options you want and buy accordingly is my advice.
