Need some electrical help

I posted up in the general truck section but did not get any response so hopefully some one here can help. A little while ago a small puff of smoke came out my dash around the radio area and since then my blinkers and brakes make my aftermarket volt gauge drop.

It was in dyer need so today I put 2 new Interstate batteries and my alternator died so I had it rebuilt and replaced the voltage regulator.

I am thinking it is a burned up ground but I cant find it. I pulled the cluster and radio and hvac controls an can not find any thing. I am charging now and even when I have some rpms the gauge still bobs with the blinker and oh yea, the A/C light is very dim now.

If any one has any suggestions or an EVTM of an 87 that would be great. Thanks

Does your radio still work? light up? I'd pull the fuse to the radio and see if the symptoms go away. Is it the stock radio? Might be the cig. lighter also.
