Does anyone know how many liters/gallons the tank is on a 99 F-350 4x4 dually diesel?

I just went for fuel and it took $170 worth Ive never put that much in before?

 

My long bed F250 holds 38 gals. You should be close to that.
Someone could have replaced the standard tank with a 50 or 60 gal tank. Such as Titan.

We have $3.75 per us gal at the moment.

 

29.0 gallons for a short bed, 38.0 gallons for a long bed.

 

Thats 144 liters and mine took 131 so I guess it was right.
Ive never put that much in before.

 

i wish mine had the 38 tank, my brothers has it and he can drive for ever before needing fuel, and it fills like i need it ever day.

 

I have the small tank. I fill up 2-3 times per week.

 

Heh, I used to regularly put 34+ gallons in my short bed. Now that I have a long bed I regularly put 40+ gallons in at fill up.

My 10 gallon hat holds approx. 13 gallons.

 

I run the tank down as low as I can before sucking air, then fill up. And I mean UP...as in up to the opening in the fill tube.

The Ex has a 44 gallon rated tank but I've put more than 44 in it many times.

Have you done the tank mods? I hear that adds quite a few gallons as well.

 

Harpooning the tank only allows you to fill it COMPLETELY in less time.

The FULL amount is the same either way.

The small vent (not the one in the filler neck) takes care of any air bubble that would be at the top of the tank, but it vents very slowly and carefully to avoid fuel spills.

Most guys don't run their tank down as low as I do. Plus, I fill it up to the same spot, every time, right up to the filler tube opening.

The 2002 didn't have any tank mods done, but my '99, I believe Clay did the in-tank mods when he owned the truck. But like Marv posted, it doesn't add capacity.

I think what I'm remembering is it adds capacity between empty to click off if you trim the vent hose thing.

 

Pshaw! It make it quick and easy to use the capacity already there. Why spend 5 minutes trickling in the fuel to get to the top of the neck, and hogging the only #$@&* diesel pump in the process? The OEM long vent tube cuts off the escaping air as the tank fills so the gas pump will shut off, leaving room for vapor as required on a gasser. Same tank in our trucks. Cut off the vent tube (harpoon) and the fuel keeps rocketing in to the top instead of clicking off 2-3 gallons short.

To OP: at least you know your duckbill is tight.

Well, where I get fuel, there's more than one green handled pump. As for the why? I have a very mild case of CDO. It's a lot like OCD but the letters are in the correct order like they're supposed to be.

More like 5, with rare occasions for 6.
