How can I kill my Daytime Running Lights- 2012 E-350
Does anyone know which fuse/relay the daytime running lights are on? Are they on an upfitter relay? 2012 E-350
The owner's manual fuse diagram doesn't list "Daytime Running Lights" or "DRL" as a circuit, but there are several "Upfitter Fuses."
I hate them and want them gone. The 90s Chevy's that had them on everything had a dedicated "DRL" fuse that you just pulled.

The other cars I've tried that in the lights come on once you get over like 5mph. I just want them gone. I don't want to be the d-bag rolling into the campground late and can't dim the headlights. Or the idiot at Bright Nights at Forest Park (Christmas light display) that can't dim my lights.
In more searching it looks like a dealer change to a programable module? Really Ford?
That's three BS electrical design things they've thrown at me this spring. The other two being the trailer brake controller factory harnesses being in the E-350 and Explorer but nothing connecting to them. Dead legs at the harness. BS.

I haven't been able to get through to the NAPA website yet but I have researched the Motorcraft/Ford catalog. They list the module as part number 15A272. This module is used up to 2009. In 2009 they apparently don't use
a module as there is no listing from '09 thru 2013. On models 2008 and before the location varies by model year, some are under the hood while others are shown to be on the frame in the area of the left front wheel well possibly below the master cylinder.
I'll keep trying the NAPA site. Might give me something more to go on.
Thanks Econolinemanor

Not driving through the campground with them off, parking the camper in the site. the time it takes to back in. then check level, move forward, lay down boards... All the while the headlight based DRLs are shining in the faces of people around their campfires.

DRL
Not sure what year ford decided to do this but the DRL'S are now controlled through what is known as a smart junction box, from the research that i have done it is a non serviceanle part and a pain to get to. There is only one wire harness for the f-150 seies trucks like mine. It can be accessed from the dealer computer but alot of them will mot do i because it's mandatory in canada. Although I do m ot live in canada I did find a dealer here that will do it but its a min of $125 for 1 hr. Now the good news through more extensive research I have determined that on 2010 and newer models there is a resistor that you should be able to unplug, on the driver side under the truck in between the fog light harness and the head light. Look up F -150 daytime running light fix. Lots of stuff out there on the subject. Long winded i know but i hope that this helps.

Posting this here and a few other places on this forum where it is talked about. The Daytime Running Lights (DRL's) on the 09 and up E series are controlled by a software setting. Your dealer can hook it up to the computer and set them to Enable or Disable. You can also use the FORScan app and a Bluetooth OBDII module to talk to the various systems in the van and set the DRL status with a menu line item.
I just bought a 2010 E350 XLT 15 passenger that I am importing back to Canada and needed to have the DRL's working to pass the Federal Inspection. I used the FORScan app and about 20 minutes of my time.
