The big cost of glass is the shipping. There are many vendors selling glass, Mid-fifty, Mac's, eBay etc. You might want to check around and inquire about the prices including shipping, then check with a few Local glass shops. Your windshield will be the big ticket item. For guys like me (48-52) and any glass that is FLAT, for the most part, nobody can compete with the local non auto glass shops.

I have bought glass through Bob's...his distributor is here in SoCal around the Ontario/Pomona area. The distributor supplies all the glass that Chip Foose used on the "Overhaulin'" TV show. I am not sure about the availability of automotive glass in GB but since all the glass in a 56, with the exception of the windshield, is flat...I believe that I would be looking for a local supplier first. Additionally, many of the windshields that I bought through Bob's I found locally for quite a bit less money.

I would definitely not pay the costs to ship flat glass overseas! Any auto glass shop worthy of the name can cut flat auto safety glass to size. Except for the windshield (windscreen) all the 56 glass is flat and simple in shape. You are on your own shipping a windshield!

Let us know if you need any templates for your flat glass...many of us have made copies and sent them out to owners who may not have the OEM glass to use to have new glass cut.
