Seats Question
I found this....
Ok. here is the run down. This should be made a sticky.
Reg cab and crew cab(front &back) seat are interchangable 80-96 and 97 Heavy duty f250 and 350. ALL seats, weather they were a bucket seat, bench or the 40-20-40.
THE SUPERCAB IS DIFFERENT!!! AND THE BRONCO IS DIFFERENT AGAIN
You can put a supercab seat in a reg cab/crewcab but you will need to modify the brackets. The supercab 40-20-40 are 3 individual seats that bolt to the floor(12 holes in the floor)
The 40-20-40 from a reg cab/crew cab are 3 seats that bolt to a bracket(pan) that then bolts to the floor in the 4 holes that a bench seat would use.
You can take the super cab 40-20-40 seats off their individual brackets and bolt them to a reg cab/crew cab seat pan BUT.... the seat will sit about 4" higher than it should. SO if you are 6' or taller you head will rub the roof.
I just wanted confirmation from others. I have a 96 crew cab that needs seats bad. I'm looking at buying seats from a single cab truck
80-96 (and 97 F250/350) seats as long as it's a crew cab or single cab, will bolt right up to my 96 crew cab.
Before I drop money I like to be sure. Can anyone confirm this. Also are single cab seats the same thickness and height etc.? Will it look right?
Thanks

I'll add a correction to the message you pasted.... While the Supercab/Bronco seats are indeed higher (starting in 1990), it's by about 2", not 4". If they were 4" higher, not even a midget could stuff his thighs under the steering wheel.
I haven't tried this, but I believe a pre-1990 Supercab/Bronco seat would be at the correct height when mounted in a regular/crew cab.

the bench is different though.it has a split back, not really meant for a reg cab.but it does make getting behind the seat easier with a passenger.no need to have them lean forward to grab something behind the seat on your side.
a 1996 super cab bench, directly bolted into my 1993 reg cab without any modification.
i sat the '93 reg cab bench in the super cab truck and bolted it down issue free before selling it too.
it's still old junk and im ready to set some nice seats in there.nothing offered this year from ford is worth the time to swap in imho.the buckets look decent enough (or 40/20/40 to be technical) but they are very firm and uncomfortable after a 30 min ride in just an f150.
