Second horn?

Second horn?
Hi
I would like 2 wire a second horn in my 88 f150 i6.
I need a louder horn, I live in Miami and it seems that in here their way to say thank you for being a defensive driver is to honk at you as many times as possible, so I just wanna say thank you back.
A diagram would really help, I know it sounds easy but I've never done it before and I don't want to mess my truck.

Hey, put an air compressor and an air train horn, then you can "thank" them all at once!!!!!
As far as an electric horn, all you need is power to a push button and wire to reach power and the horn,,, Of course you need to ground the horn, but that is "usually" taken care by the mounting bolts if you bolt it to the frame or body..

You can use a train horn! Just not around any cops
I'm looking to replace my horn too, the stock horn is so pathetic it's almost comical. I love the horn on the Lincoln Mark VIII, next junkyard run I'm gonna try and grab one for my truck. Unless someone has a suggestion for an even louder one

Screw the $200-$300 train horn and compressor.......get yourself an old 6-volt horn off of a 30's- early 50's car. Get em' for around $20 at swap meet. When cars ran off a 6-volt system, they had enormous long horns (usually doubles) that were ear piercing on a 6 volt....imagine how loud it would be when you double the power to a 12!!!
Although I haven't hook mine up to the truck yet, when I get bored and want to annoy the people within a mile, I'll just touch the wires to my battery.....needless to say, it scares me even when I know I'm going to do it.
The thing is, my doubles that I've got are about 18 inches (or longer) in length. The only reasonable place to mount them is on a piece of metal, sort of behind and under the engine. Then once mounted, I will disconnect the factory horns, and run longer wire from the horn relay button to the grounds on my new horns so I can use them through the button on the steering wheel.
I haven't really had the time to do it, but can't wait till I do!

This is the type I was talking about - most commonly found from 30's cars, when you actually had room in the engine bay. I've got the double, then the single. I wanted to hook them all together but 1. the blue ones already have wires to them, and 2. they're already bulky enough. Any more, and I would have to put them in the bed of the truck!
Some day when I hook em' up, I'll have to post a video!

The horn and cruise control share the same relay. You don't want to hurt the cruise control.
Before you wire up any horn, other than a factory replacement, calculate the current draw of the new horn and check against the wire/relay capacities. If you are not sure, post the specs here and we'll take a stab at it.

If it was me, I would probably take the original horn out, and put a relay at the end of the dark blue wire that fed the old horns.
Pin 85 Dark Blue Wire
Pin 86 Ground
Pin 30 Battery
Pin 87 would go to something like this:
I've never needed anything louder than stock, in fact the only time I use my horn is if I want to get the attention of someone I know. I've probably used the horn on my truck less than 10 times in the 5 years I've owned it.

I think we should only get 3 honks a month on the car horn. Then, someone cuts you off, you press the horn, and nothing happens. You're like, "Crap! I wish I hadn't seen Ricky on the sidewalk!"
