Too much Vacuum advance?

Too much Vacuum advance?
Ok! With the help of some folks on this forum I was able to unfreeze my mechanical advance. The mechanism was frozen partly advanced, so I had to re time it. Now it's running like crap with the vac advance connected. The advance is way past the timing marks. It put an allen wrench in the vac to adjust, but it doesn't engage with anything. Seems to be happy without the vac advance. I don't drive it alot so I'm not too concerned about gas mileage. Is it worth messing with or should I just leave it disconnected?
