I have a 56. I am going with the one piece door glass. Since the window felts are going to be longer with the one piece. Do you have to make a new support (slots like the original) for the felts? Also where the vent window was there is an indentation on the door. There will be a gap where the new felt will go across. What did u guys do? Seems like it needs to be filled?

Buy the kit from Midfifty.

 

The forward part of the felt gets glued in place. Also make yourself a handy little tool by bending a piece of 1/8"x3/8" flat bar onto itself ( U shaped) so you can work the outside lip of the window opening towards the outside. The window felts are very tight on the glass. It requires a 5/8" opening

 

I also did the one piece conversion and as CharlieLed mentioned, buy the whole kit from Mid Fifties. Go to my facebook site for my article and it should help somewhat. Good Luck!!
