Yeah, for that money it aught to be a tough tranny. Hopefully the shop can give me some more info on the rebuild. Maybe il be lucky and find its a billet triple disk converter or something, and a tranny full of good parts.

This is their site http://www.buffomatic.com/converters.htm looks promising
They are supposed to be good, but I have never personally dealt with them.

As for the 355s Brad, I only did the rear and only had money into doing the brakes, the rest was parts I had. I can go back, or maybe try 373s. Id bet if I had some supporting mods with my injectors I wouldn't have to use the egt guage as my speedometer...

And thanks Nate, That parts truck has a bunch of goodies. I think I might already have the utility bed sold, that will about cover the cost of the truck, so then its all free parts!

That's a good way of saying it, that's what I've been doing for 10 years! In fact I have put TWO EGT gauges in, one in each exhaust manifold.

ZF5 with south bend clutch for the f350. Another project to ad to the list. I might get to this one sooner than later. The F-sd might wait some more.

Thank god for the rust. I have about 5-6 of them in my storage shed. But none of them are s47s

Yeah, let alone a 4x4 ZF5 in the first place. I looked around for about 6 months (very casually though) when I was preparing for my swap and only saw 1 other ZF5 for sale in the phoenix area. It was for a 2wd as well. When I found a 4x4 ZF5, I didn't care that it was an s42, I was just excited to find it!

None of my trucks were mobile and i had to grab a d60. I'm glad I have little concern for TDI lol sticking out the trunk and into the back seat.

I have the standard shift steering column in, master and slave in, its about ready to go. Just need to get the rear shaft lengthened and put in the manual trans harness/ swap the pins in the plug that need to be swapped.

The Jetta?? haha. Dude, I hope so. My original plan was to take my f-superduty. That isn't even close to driving anywhere yet. So, I was thinking maybe i could take on a smaller task, and do the 5 speed swap in my 350 i'v been wanting to do. And now I have like 10 days until RRE lol. And I still need to figure what I am Staying in. I have a site, but that's it. Tent? Camper? enclosed trailer? or some redneck combination of all of those? we shall find out haha.

I know what ya meant haha. I should have the 350 wrapped up by the weekend. The shaft is at the drive line shop now. Today it should at least be mobile in front wheel drive. Ill make sure to bring a lot of tools in case I forgot to do something I can finish it on the way!! If there wasn't a last minute, none of my projects would get done lol

Shaft in Friday night, All is good. Just needs an oil change. The SB makes for a real stiff pedal for sure. Engages low, plastic bushing is junk, push rod a little warn. At some point i will have to see to that. Probably put a whole new hydraulic system in. If there is any other issues, Im sure I will find out in the next few days haha

Can't wait to meet you at RRE. Too bad the F-SD isn't done, I would've loved to see all your nifty fab work in person.
