I just traded in my 2011 F250 with the gas 6.2L in on a 2010 with the 6.4 diesel. Now, I've only had it a couple of days, but so far (and these aren't hand calculated, just what the trucks are calculating) I'm averaging around 15 combination around town and highway. My 6.2 never got better than 12, not matter how easy I drove it. Pulling my pontoon boat (which isn't much of a load for a truck like this) down the interstate at 70 mph, it was more like 5-6 mpg. Mike Butler with 5 Star Tuning is right down the road from me. I plan on getting him to do the dpf delete as soon as I get the money. I've heard of some pretty substantial gains in mpg once that is done. He told me he did one for a guy who pulled a 3 car hauler with his and went from 8-9 pulling the trailer to around 15 after the delete. Might be worth checking into.
Unfortunately, I'm in California (emissions capital of the world), so a dpf delete is not an option for me. However, on a lighter note, since I originally posted this, I have had a new dpf installed and a sensor replaced...believe it or not, my gas mileage actually improved. I had friends visiting and drove them around for a day (highway and city) and the truck got 17 mpg (hand calculated). This weekend we towed our TT approx 360 miles and averaged just over 11 mpg (approx 7300 lbs), that's going up hills too. That also included one regen.
I have changed my mind about the truck and absolutely love it now.

I think one of the members said it best here with:

"MAN UP - It's a SUPER DUTY!"

When I went from a 30MPG audi to this F350 I realized, I need to make more money!

Luckily, if you are healthy, you can always make more money.

Well I certainly wasn't expecting 30 mpg, nor did I decide to purchase a Prius to pull my travel trailer. However, I am dedicated to getting the max mileage out of my
"Super Duty."

I am retired and do not have the ability to make more money. So, for now, I'm quite happy with the mileage the truck is getting. After reading through some of the other posts, it sounds like I could be doing much worse.

Those are some pretty good numbers. Too bad about the dpf delete. I've heard it makes a big difference, but sounds like yours is doing pretty good as it is. Glad you got it figured out. Planning on buying a travel trailer myself. That's why I had to trade the gasser on the diesel. So far I love it.
