Retractable bed cover

I've never had one before. And I know there are older threads about this, but I figured I would ask for current opinions. It seems the options are Peragon, Roll N Lock and Retrax. The Peragon is by far the cheapest. Anybody have experience with any of these? Any problems or suggestions? I don't mind paying more if the quality is really better.

Thanks

I had Roll-N-Lock on my 2010 King Ranch and liked it so much, it is on my 2013 King Ranch. Properly installed, they don't leak and are easy to roll back and forth.

Here are some pics pf the Peragon. Perhaps more than you wanted. I've had it on since Oct 2011 and it's been great.

Do you have any vibration or rattle noise coming from any of these covers?

The Peragon sure has my attention since its about half the cost of the others.

In the rear view mirror I can see some vibration in the center of the cover. I expect this since the center is unsupported like any other cover.

The Peragon is made from air craft aluminum and is powder coated. The rollers are ball bearing and the track is large enough to shed any ice build up if any.

I had Pace Edwards Roll-Top in my old truck and had no problems. It retracts effortlessly. And it is more affordable compared to Roll N Lock.

I have a Retrax cover on my truck. I love the way it fits and it keeps my bed dry.

I had a Pace-Edwards Jackrabbit once, the vinyl de-laminated from the top after a couple of years.

Backed up to a dumpster and got rid of it.

Replaced it with a Retrax.

Every truck since then has had a Retrax.

FWIW, I like the Retrax 1 better than the Retrax Pro.

I have the standard Pace Edwards retractable unit and do not like it very much. Atheistically, it is fine and it does work, but the locking mechanism is terrible since you have to use a key to open/close the cover. My friend has the Lock & Roll and the quality seems much better and his has a turn handle to open/close the cover which also locks. Its a much better solution. On the other hand, the Pace Edwards was about $400-500 less.

The main reason for the bed cover for me is to be a me to out something in the bed without worrying about it being stolen. Most of the covers I have seen would not deter that. I don't plan on leaving things in the back but going to several stores it would be good to put things back there without the worry.

The good thing about the Retrax is the fact that its made from Lexan, and doesn't have any vinyl to worry about. The salesperson I bought from said all I have to do is wax the cover when I wax my truck. I have the Retrax 1. My cover fits nicely and functions flawlessly.

I do like the gloss of the cover and it looks to be well made. I was watching this video and was looking forward to them showing how the security of the cover would compare to the Roll n Lock. Unfortunately that just basically showed someone tapping on the cover with a hammer and not someone trying to pry it up to get in it like the roll n lock did.

Here is the video I watched:

Here is a video I was hoping Retrax would show. During this video I began to chuckle when the guy started beating on the cover with the crowbar...like a thief would do that! Also when someone else's car alarm went off he took off...COMEDY. However it does show the security of the cover which to me is really important. I sure wish Roll n Lock would have a great looking glossy finish like the Retrax does!!

Here's the video:
