Fel-Pro 8194 Donut Gasket Torque Spec

When switching to the Fel-Pro gaskets on the up-pipes does the torque spec for the bolts stay the same? Just wondering if I have over torqued these causing a leak. Which was 25 ftlbs.

I didn't use a specific torque on the ones I've done. Just did the German thing and made them "goodentite".

Ok going to pick up a new set today and try them again. I think its just the drivers side but could be wrong. cant hardly see the passenger side. Guess I better pick up a inspection mirror also!

Did you coat them with antiseize when you installed them?

The Bolts? Yes! I had installed the gaskets and took everything apart again and reused. So I'm guessing thats why the one is leaking. Due to the collector not matching up to the new housing I installed. I use antiseize on everything that sees heat or moisture.

Not just the bolts, but coating the donuts, as well.

It will allow the donuts to seat deeper into the beveled flanges for a better seal and crush around the pipes.

Ok so just on the flange area? Iron both the inner area and flange?

Put the antiseize on the outside of the donuts before you slide the flanges together and tighten up the bolts.

I would stay away from the Felpro 8194's as they are a pain to crush. Look into getting the Victor Reinz F17250. They are a graphite like material and crush much easier. I could not get the 8194's to seal at all and the F17250's sealed the first time. They have been on there for over a year leak free.

Sounds like a great option. Couldn't find the graphite ones at the time and my friends purchased them since it wasn't my truck I was working on.

Yeah, I had to special order them through a parts store as they did not stock them either. I am sure you can find them online as well.
