Micah's 1994 F-150 build thread

Well I got my truck back from the shop the other day and am very happy. I had them look at the ball joints and they were solid so that saved some money. They did a tune up for me and oil change and fuel filter. A new thermostat and retimed it as well. (I still don't have the dexterity I need in my hands to do these things).
Now the fun stuff.
They put in springs from and f250 in the front which all most leveled my truck. The old springs were shot.
I had them put in a flowmaster muffler with a side dump before the rear tire. And now my truck sounds great!
I will get new pics when I can but the truck is going back on Monday to have new motor mounts put in. I new they were getting bad.

Well my truck is at the shop getting new motor mounts a new ebrake cable and rear brake job, and whatever else that may come to mind lol.
Soon I will be able to do all these repairs myself once I can build up strength in my right hand again and I can stand up for more than a couple minutes. I truly hate being injured

Second, nice work on your truck! Looks like you had a great vehicle to start, and you're doing good things to it. Keep up the good work.

Thanks. I love my two boys and am glad I can be here to help out especially since I almost died in August twice in 24hrs. More info on that here. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...roundings.html
I did get lucky on the condition of the truck. It has been abused a bit since I bought it, but I use a truck as I feel it should be used lol. Hence why I am starting to upgrade the truck and fortify it.
I did however before Ben was born get a chance to pull off my toolbox in order to start repainting it/rino line it

Well the truck is down again lol. I swear I am going to have a brand new 94 f150 here soon.
This timr the slave cylinder went out, so here in a few days I'm going to take it back to the shop and have them put in a new one along with a new clutch since the transmission will already be out of the truck and have them do a service on the transmission as well.
So does anyone have a good recommendation on a clutch?

So I love my truck ! Drove around the other day, mixed city and hwy miles and got 17mpg!
In the next couple days I will be putting in the new kicker speakers I ordered for it. Soon I will find a new grill since mine is cracked and then will have it dipped in camo among a few other items.
Can't wait to have that done

I couldn't wait any longer! I fired up the stove in the shop tonight and installed my new kicker 6x8s and kicker 6 1/2 speakers. It sounds so much better now. I had pretty much only one functional speaker before.
I love how easy the install was on these, I would recommend however that if anyone buys these to also buy the factory plug adapter. Rather than striping the wires like i did. Oh well live and learn
Next on the list is a small sub just to add a little bass.
Hopefully this week I will start in on the toolbox. Gotta strip the paint off and breathe some new life into it.

No I took out the factory radio last year some time and installed a cheepo dual CD player with an mp3 jack.
I have a new pioneer deck to put in but didn't have time or energy last night to install it.
I have ran similar speakers with a factory deck before and it did improve sound quality. But I prefer decks with more customizable eq, plus then you can run a sub if you want.
I actually ordered a Rockford fosgate p2 shallow mount 10 and box today just so I can have a full sound. What's nice is the box fits behind the seat without having to move it forward.
