Possible purchase

I know I had another thread, but wanted to make a fresh one for this truck. I decided to pass on the other CCLB we were discussing. The one below has 180K on it. listed for 12,900. He said he is pretty firm as he just did all the upgrades below. He emailed extra pics I will see if I can get them to upload. Inside looks clean, and frame looks rust free. Do you think his asking price is too high for this? or reasonable?

I see mixed reviews on banks power pack. Pretty much it works for it's intended purposes but there are better and cheaper builds out there. Since it already has it my question is, if I swap my stage 1s, add T500, and put my PHP tunes in it. It should be a decent build right right? I don't know much about the 1.0 turbo housing that comes with it. A 5 disc trans, I don't know what that means. Was thinking of calling the person that made it, to discuss it, and any warranties that it still has.

1997 F350 7.3L Diesel. 4x4. crew cab. Truck has Entire banks kit (turbo, intercooler, etc.). Gibson monster exhaust, high end programmer. revmax HD torque convertor. New 5-disc HD transmission.
Has 6 inch reverse shackle lift kit (improved ride). 37" tires on dick cepek wheels. Truck also has a high end stereo system, line x bedliner and tinted windows.
truck is in excellent shape, runs and drives great. everything i did to it, that is listed above, was done about 1500 miles ago. so it is all still like new.

Slick lookin truck! I still dont think its worth close to 13k.

I just dont see a truck value being increased by the upgrades on it.
The way I see it is you can buy a relatively clean truck with high miles in any of the 'rust free' states (arizona, texas, wyoming, colorado). Plenty of states dont use salt or dont get snow so these trucks are still clean there.
You can get them for 2-6k and then DO all those upgrades yourself which means you get to the pick quality parts/brands you like and then you will still be below or around 13k.

Just my two pennies.

That's a good point - if that "HD Trans" ****s the bed on me next year, then I'm 5K more invested getting a built one. Also I plan on swapping my tunes and injectors as well, so that negates the banks PP except for the intercooler. I would bite at 10.5 however if he would move a bit.

It would bring that much up here. I'm not a fan of the wheels, but I'm not buying either. I don't know if you're really paying for the upgrades too much, that truck stock would bring that much or real close anyway up here.

Going to look at it tomorrow AM. He is solid on the price and won't move. So as long as I can eat off the floor boards I may pick it up. My reg cab is due for a trans soon, and I want a crew cab anyways. Tomorrow may be the day. Bringing a trailer with me. Deciding on which truck will do the towing if I buy it.

Looks like a really nice truck but I'm not a fan of half of his upgrades. Would you be willing to buy the truck if it didn't have all the banks crap since you're going to replace a good deal of it anyway?

Asking price seems about right for my area but I'd still try and talk him down a little if you can offer cash. I agree with Alex. Mods dont really increase the value of a truck.

The asking price for this truck seems fair even with no value added for the mods. I would rather pick up a Bone Stock truck anyday, so I would say that for me mods reduce the appeal. If you see any trucks like this (without the lift) I'm in the market especially now that my engine in "Great White" is probably trashed.

It isn't that out of the park on price in my opinion. I paid $13,500 for mine bone stock with 160,000 on it. If the truck is clean and no rust, I'd bite.

Hey guys - I picked it up. Very clean no leaks. towed my f250 home with it. Sort of towed like a turd, but that's to be expected with it mostly stock and 37inch tires. It does have 4:10 gearing and I'm not sure on the chip. It has a SCT scanner/programmer from innovation diesel. But I haven't messed with it yet since I'm used to my php 6 position tunes. Other than it being a slug compared to mine with stage 1s it drives and looks great. Towed 6 hours with no problems. Thanks for opinions. Now I need help on what to list mine for. Any suggestions based on my sig?

Sweet! Maybe after you get the stage1s moved over we could just park next to each other and if our keys happened to get mixed up....

Really though - nice buy. Where was it located because I saw one like it over here on my side of the state a few weeks ago. We passed each other and waved - like twins separated at birth.
