Changing the motor in my C700
Now for My next question. My truck has a 5 speed in it the tag on the 5 speed says
C2TA 7004 Z FL 2
4 12 62
I'd like to do away with the 302 Y block and but a 429-460 in it. So my question is did they ever put a 460 in front of this transmission. If so is it just a matter of finding the right bell housing?

Congrats on your C series truck purchase!!! i am in the same boat, needing a new engine, blew mine up. probably pushed it to hard up a grade trying to keep from slowing down traffic and irritating travelers.... i really enjoy the Cseries and am going to miss it if ever find a buyer. haven't had much luck getting the band volunteers to
pony up some cash to have the 361hd replaced. only had a few 'LOOKY LOU'S' and one scammer, told me he'd pay me cash when i towed it to his place !!!
